Biography

I was born in 1995 in Munich, Germany. At a young age I started taking piano lessons and developed a keen interest in music. In recent years I have worked as an arranger and composer with different orchestras in the Munich area as well as the Budapest Film Orchestra. Since 2017 I have been studying musicology at the University of Music at Karlsruhe. While studying Music Informatics as a supplementary subject I was able to learn how to use many technical devices including software applications. After finishing my BA in 2021 I am continuing my studies to obtain a Master’s degree. I love to compose and have a great deal of experience with software tools like Sibelius and Pro Tools.

Musicology

In the course of my studies I have been exploring musicology in depth. My main area of interest is orchestral music, especially of the 19th century, as well as Russian music and performance practice. Through my various jobs as student assistant and internships, for example in music publishing, I have gathered extensive practical experience.

Composition

As well as musicology, composition is my second passion. The majority of my compositions is for orchestra but I have also written pieces for piano, string quartet and other chamber lineups. Also worth mentioning are two of my orchestral works which were performed in concert a few years ago.

Orchestration

For many years I have been working on instrumentation and orchestration. With the help of various text books and copious scores I have been able to acquire greater knowledge in this field. I have gathered practical experience with piano reductions, chamber music arrangements and working with live orchestras.

Music Notation

While working on my various occupations a good understanding of notation has proved invaluable. This pertains to artistic as well as scientific work, for example the writing of musicals examples for textbooks or papers. Elaine Gould’s Behind Bars is the main source of reference that I use.

Music Production

For a long time I have been working with sample libraries like Vienna Symphonic Library or other tools such as Noteperformer. Using these I have produced some of my own compositions as well as gaining experience in the area of film scoring. An exciting but much more time consuming and complex alternative are my recordings with the Budapest Film Orchestra.
